Just two days after calling off 7-week old strike over unpaid salaries , Osun state civil servants have resumed a fresh strike. The workers are alleging that the state government have reneged on the memorandum of understanding signed with the state NLC leadership before the strike action was called off on Monday July 13th.
The workers say as part of the memorandum of understanding they signed ,
their January salary was supposed to be paid starting from on Monday July 13 whil they await the payment of the remaining salaries when the bailout from the federal government gets to the state.
They said, they were however surprise that only the junior workers in the state that received full payments of their January salary while the senior workers got half of their salaries , a situation the state NLC leaders saw as a suspicious and immediately called for a frest strike.
