Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Professor Attahiru Jega has be
nominated winner of this years Charles T. Mannat Democracy award.The award which
is the initiative of IFES is awarded yearly on individuals who have
distinguished themselves in the advancement democracy and freedom.
Professor Attahiru Jega would be Honored under Charles T.
Manatt Democracy category.The award will be presented to him by the
international foundation for Electoral system (IFES) which is based in the United states.
Organizer of the award said prof Jega`s expertise in the
management of the 2015 general elections positioned him as a credible election
administrator.Three individuals are Honored each year in this categories
namely ; one U.S Democrat
, one Republican and a member of the international community who demonstrate unwavering commitment to democracy and human rights. Democratic leader ,NANCY PELOSI (D-Calif) and Congressman ED ROYCE (R-CALIF) are to be Honored alongside MR.Jega.

The award will be received at a special ceremony,co-chaired
by IFES Board Director and Baker & Hostetler LLP Partner,Ambassador Tom McDonald
and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP Partner june L. DeHart on September 29,in
Washington D.C united states of America .
In respond to his nomination Professor Jega said he is
deeply Honored to accept the 2015 Democracy award from IFES.
