COSAFA Cup - RSA Beat Namibia to Clinch 5th Spot

South Africa have won the COSAFA Cup 2017 plate final against Namibia 1-0 and have clinched the 5th spot in the
tournament.

Both South Africa and Namibia were defeated in the quarterfinal stage and hence had to play the 5th-8th classification playoffs, which has been won by the Bafana Bafana.

South Africa started the game poorly and almost paid the price when they conceded a penalty as early as in the 10th minute. However, Namibia were left wondering what would have been after Ketjijere missed the spotkick. A buoyant South Africa grew into the game and rubbed salt into Namibia's wounds by taking the lead in the 36th minute.

Mokate, after receiving a pass from Moseamedi, saw his shot deflected into the top corner as the Namibia looked shell-shocked. South Africa were a greater threat in the second half with Moseamedi taking control of the game and despite some late pressure from Namibia, they held on to secure the 5th spot.
