Delta state Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal has dismissed the suit by Chief Great Ogboru, candidate of the Labour Party in the governorship election on 11 April, affirming instead the election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The tribunal headed by Justice Gunmi gave the ruling in Asaba today, amidst accusations that Okowa’s supporters already knew what was coming and were jubilating on Sunday.
Mr O’tega Emerhor who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had challenged the declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Ifeanyi Okowa, as the winner of the 2015 governorship poll in Delta State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Labour Party governorship candidate, Mr Great Ogboru, also contested Governor Okowa’s election.
